On Friday 28 February 2003, in Kraków SOLIDEX celebrated the opening of its new premises - the Rainbow Building. The formal part of the celebrations began with the bugle tune that can be heard every hour from one of the towers of St Mary's Basilica in Kraków.
The ribbons, in colors that matched the unique rainbow facade of the building, were symbolically cut by Messrs. Wojciech Szewko, Under-secretary of State at the Polish Committee for Scientific Research (KBN), Dr. Wacław Iszkowski, eng., President of the Polish IT and Telecommunications Chamber, Dr. Romulad Loegler, author of the architectural design of the building, Professor Stanisław Hryń, well-known artist of Kraków whose sculpture - the "SOLoist" - welcomes visitors in front of the building, Tomasz Wełna, young artist, student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, whose computer images have found their place, as a permanent exhibition, in all office rooms of the building, Mr. Ryszard Skotniczny, Vice-President of SOLIDEX, and Dr. Zbigniew Skotniczny, eng., President of SOLIDEX.
The tour of the building and the official part was completed by SOLIDEX's Guests, Clients and Friends at the vantage terrace where they were watching a fireworks show accompanied with music.
After the official part of the evening, the distinguished Guests embarked upon an expedition into the magic world of the arts of Kraków - the cultural capital of Poland. The first stop was the Stary Theatre where they could see the play "Tango Gombrowicz" directed by Mikołaj Grabowski, with excellent actors on stage - Jerzy Trela, Jan Peszek, Jan Frycz, Krzysztof Globisz and Taduesz Huk. The next event was planned in the cellars of the "Krzysztofory" Arts Gallery where, sitting on chairs dating to the times of the masterly performances of "The Dead Class" by Tadeusz Kantor, the guests relished a variety of musical moods - from reflective songs by Andrzej Sikorowski, through an intelligent sense of humor of the stories of the "Elderly Gentlemen's Cabaret" performed by actresses of the Stary Theatre, to sharp, rock rhythms of the mysterious "Special Guest" who turned out t be Grzegorz Markowski. Towards the end, the guests were encouraged to dance to the good old traditional jazz played by the OLD Metropolitan BAND.
