Network Appliance SAN Series Joins the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List
4.10.2002 11:30
FAS900-FCP and F800-FCP series storage solutions have been included on the Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) in the Storage/RAID System category. The new offerings are designed to extend the NetApp storage portfolio to offer enterprise SAN solutions. Network Appliance supports the Microsoft HCL program, which is designed to assist Microsoft customers in identifying products that help provide a high-quality Windows experience.
The Microsoft HCL identifies products which have been designed and tested to receive the "Designed for Windows" logo. The logo signals to customers that the product meets Microsoft standards for compatibility and interoperability with Windows. The NetApp FAS900-FCP and F800-FCP series storage solutions have passed WHQL (Windows Hardware Qualification Lab) testing standards that assure that they are easy to use, reliable, and take advantage of the features of Windows 2000.
"Achieving Microsoft HCL certification demonstrates Network Appliance's commitment to delivering leading enterprise storage solutions for Windows environments," said Mark Santora, senior vice president of marketing at Network Appliance. "We are pleased to announce this significant certification of our strong technology and product sets built to provide storage solutions for the enterprise Windows market. Network Appliance continues to empower global enterprises with the broadest portfolio of fully-compatible, high-performance, high-availability storage networking products for a variety of operating systems and environments."
"The NetApp FAS900-FCP and F800-FCP series storage products offer Windows customers powerful new storage options for enterprise SAN deployments," said Jamie Gruener, Senior Analyst, Yankee Group.
