SOLIDEX Becomes a Member of the Center for IT Advice to the Central and Local Government Administration

With the beginning of the new year SOLIDEX S.A. joined the group of member companies of the Center for IT Advice to the Central and Local Government Administration established by Oracle Polska. The competencies of our SOLID EXperts have made it possible for us to become a member of the advisory group serving the central and local administration, formed by companies with well-established reputation and experience in designing and implementing advanced IT systems.

In the next few years Polish administration will face the problem of full and at the same time rational use of resources from the EU Structural Funds. One of the challenges of the accession process will be the preparation of projects under the horizontal priority of "Information Society". Projects related to information science and teleinformatics, broadly understood, are characterized by high complexity and difficulty, and working for the IT Advice Center, SOLIDEX is ready to share its expertise and experience in that field. The priorities set by the European Union and consequently future operations of Polish administration related to broadband access to the internet for citizens, the construction of local and regional infrastructures as well as the installation of IT systems in public administration require extensive knowledge of EU procedures and programs as well as practical experience in the implementation of advanced IT projects.

The technical expertise of our SOLID EXperts and our knowledge of the EU procedural requirements form SOLIDEX's response to the needs of public administration - we are ready to share our expertise with you. Our programs of SOLID Systems, SOLID Services and SOLID Technologies demonstrate the areas of SOLIDEX's experience and competencies. Our IT knowledge - from the basic internet access infrastructures to advanced e-learning systems - will undoubtedly be useful during work on local, regional and national projects. About the Center for IT Advice to the Central and Local Government Administration

In recognition of the responsibilities and challenges in the field of IT that Polish central and local administration will face almost automatically upon Poland's joining the European Union in 2004, and of the role of the information technology and advice in supporting the efforts of public authorities, Oracle Polska has established - in cooperation with a wide circle of IT organizations and companies - THE CENTER FOR IT ADVICE TO THE CENTRAL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATION.

The leading Polish IT companies have launched a joint initiative to support public authorities for them to be best prepared to their new role after accession to the EU. The most important demonstration of that initiative is the creation of the Center for IT Advice to the Central and Local Government Administration.

The Center's principal asset is the practical knowledge related to the methods of implementing IT programs for the central and local government administration based on the extensive experience of the Center's founders acquired during implementation of IT systems in several hundred public sector organizations in Europe and elsewhere in the world.

Aims and Responsibilities

The Center for IT Advice to the Central and Local Government Administration, institutionally affiliated at Oracle Polska Sp. z o.o., is aimed to function over the coming years as the "first contact point and information desk" for central and local government offices and institutions that seek support, advice and information on planning, implementing and managing IT projects at the levels of both strategy definition and detailed implementation.

The Center's principal responsibility is to inform the public sector about EU requirements as set out in the "eEurope" strategy, with particular emphasis on the program of IT system implementation in public offices referred to as "eGovernment".

The role of the Center is also to provide advice on the strategy of IT system implementation in the public sector institutions and the availability of detailed IT solutions and systems.

The Center also engages in educational activities such as training in IT technologies organized for staff and specialists from public institutions.

Center's Partners

The Center for IT Advice to the Central and Local Government Administration gathers a group of IT companies competent and experienced in developing and implementing systems in the public sector.

The Center was set up by Oracle Polska and the Center's Partners are: Cisco Poland, Hewlett-Packard Polska, Softman, SOLIDEX, Sun Microsystems Poland, Unizeto and ZETO Koszalin.
