Course content overview
The ICND course provides basic knowledge about building and operation of computer networks in theory and practice. It covers:
- the basics of network technologies,
- using the Cisco IOS,
- local area networks (LAN) - ethernet basics including virtual LANs.
- wide area networks (WAN) - leased line, dial-up connections and packet switching networks,
- the internet protocol (IP) including dynamic routing and packet filtering,
- all topics above include hands-on labs
The DESGN course introduces basic network design concepts. It covers:
- specifying requirements (functionality, efficiency, scalability and security),
- preparing technical project,
- modeling and testing,
- documentation and presenting
The advanced courses provide more detailed knowledge focused on a specific area:
- BSCI - dynamic routing (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, redistribution, policy-routing).
- BCMSN - local area networks (switching, spanning tree, VLANs, HSRP, multilayer switching, multicasts).
- BGP - all about BGP protocol on Cisco routers.
- CSVPN - building virtual private networks (VPN).
The courses include intensive, hands-on labs covering all the mentioned technologies. It is advisable to check the prerequisites before taking a course because it will allow you to get most of the presented material.
All the courses are lead in Polish language based on English student books. After the course you get a certificate signed by the Cisco certified instructor. Cisco provides also exams for the courses (Sylvan prometric or VUE test). Passed exams may entitle you to one of the certificates:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate
- Cisco Certified Network Professional
- Cisco Certified Design Associate
- Cisco Certified Design Professional
