6th Conference on the Art of Secure Integration

On 9 to 11 March, Kraków housed the 6th edition of the conference on the art of secure integration organized annually by SOLIDEX. The conference themes focused on the presentation of new developments and trends in LAN networks, IP telephony, mass storage systems, Public Key Infrastructure and professional services. For the persons who had been with us during the previous events, a new feature was the conference venue - the modern spacious conference rooms of the Rainbow Building that houses SOLIDEX's headquarters.

As usually, the conference began with an encounter with Arts - this time we invited our participants to the premier performance of "Opera Mleczana" directed by Mikołaj Grabowski. The literary background for that most recent production staged by the Stary Theatre are the texts contained in drawings by Andrzej Mleczko.

The conference proceedings started on Monday morning with a plenary session. Next to representatives of SOLIDEX, the lecturers included Professor Ryszard Tadeusiewicz, Rector of the University of Mining and Metallurgy in Kraków who talked about the pros and contras of e-education, and Dariusz Piotrowski, Technical Director of Cisco Systems Polska.

After the lunch break, the participants worked in two groups during specialist sessions on IP telephony and professional services. On parallel with the lectures, conference participants had an opportunity to hold individual free consultations with SOLIDEX specialists.

Monday ended with the Evening of the Art of Integration in the Krzysztofory Gallery, the unique cellar that used to house Grupa Krakowska (the Kraków Group). Our evening began with the performance of "Tango and Herman" with the singing by Beata Malczewska, actress of the Stary Theatre, permanently associated with the Loch Camelot Cabaret. Later in the evening, the guests were entertained by excellent sketches and monologues by Andrzej Grabowski and the "Pod Wyrwigroszem" (The Sharper) Cabaret. The program was accompanied by lively Latin music performed by the Los Bomberos Cabaret.

Tuesday was spent during the conference on lectures on a variety of subjects: local network infrastructure, mass storage systems, security and operation of LAN and access infrastructure. During the final part of the conference workshops on the Art of Integration were organized for the participants to have direct contact with selected solutions discussed at the lectured earlier on during conference.

The participants of the conference on the Art of Secure Integration spoke very highly of both the conference agenda and its organization. It demonstrates to us that our conference is needed and is always appreciated by IT specialists from throughout Poland.
