Rainbow Building of SOLIDEX - photo gallery
The Rainbow Office Building, which opened on the turn of 2002, is located in Kraków, at J. Lea St 124, just two kilometers away from the Old Market Square. It is in the vicinity of a university campus, and offers a beautiful panorama of Sikornik range of hills.
This spacious building with total area exceeding 4500 sq. m, was commissioned by SOLIDEX as its own head office and designed by Dr Romuald Loegler, a well known architect of Kraków, who adapted and developed an old two-storey office building of 1965. Its modern shape integrates lower, original office block with a modern five-floor structure with a glass-and aluminum facade.
It owes its rainbow quality to sunshades which surround both the old and the new part of the Centre. As the investor intended to preserve as much trees as possible, the building has been placed between high trees whose branches almost touch the glass facade; mirror images of the trees add to the dynamic color effects.
